ISTELive 22 or BUST!

Full of hype and excitement, our team is heading to the ISTELive 22 conference on June 26th, long-considered THE premiere edtech event of the year by leaders in education around the globe. We will be strapping on running shoes as we set out to explore the 1.1 million square feet of glorious space in the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center located in the heart of New Orleans.

A national conference held in person is a great opportunity to catch up on making personal and professional connections, researching new edtech tools and strategies, and learning from innovative educational voices who are paving the way with brilliant ideas.

If you have ever been to one of these conferences, you would most likely agree that no matter how challenging the year, how difficult the circumstances or how uncertain the periods of time, educators love to gather, get involved with sharing ideas, learn from each other, and LAUGH.

The big party kicks off on Sunday, June 26, and continues through Wednesday, June 29, with over 800 sessions available in-person and on the virtual platform! This year ISTE has inspiring mainstage featured speakers from the exceptional digital illusionist Zack King (@zachking), one of social media’s most prominent content creators, to the mind-blowing educator-turned-breakthrough-actor, Greg Tarzan Davis (@gregtarzandavis). So many choices to look forward to as we make our plan to experience it ALL! There are fabulous options to choose from such as the EdTech Coaches Playground, ISTE Live sessions, tech demonstrations, and poster sessions!

Game on!

Determined to make the MOST out of this conference, it is time to make a plan! After all, most of our favorite educators and speakers from around the country will be there to contribute with their transformative voices, ready to share what’s new and relevant right now to empower learners.

We have to admit that not one of us could have pulled off our journey in education this past year without the assistance of our professional learning network. Working together to improve relationships while gaining wisdom and knowledge is the key to a healthy community.

It is easy to sink into FOMO (fear of missing out) when we go to a big conference like ISTE Live. There are so many exciting adventures awaiting us, but thankfully the carefully planned schedule allows us to make a flexible strategy that most likely will evolve organically as we go. We have to remind ourselves to find a sense of balance, pace ourselves, and get the most out of what we can while we worry less about what we might miss. Good thing virtual sessions will be recorded and available to access for up to six months!

Even with making all of the best preparations and strategizing for the timing of sessions, sometimes things come up that we don’t expect. But those actually can be beautiful surprises. We can’t wait to step into these next few days with high hopes and great energy, willing to learn something new to take back home and relay to our Edge•U friends and family.

We will be set up and ready to go on opening day, June 26th! Look for us in our comfortable shoes, handing out vendor goodies, informative conversations, and smiles that won’t fade. Our team has several sessions to offer and we will be on the EdTech Coaches Playground! We would love to meet up, visit, and share more about what makes Edge•U an innovative resource for professional learning with educators and other leaders in education. Stop by booth #2523 as the expo hall opens on Monday for more information!
